Buddy, NO....Betty?

Well, we thought we knew our pet Cockatiel pretty well after 2 years of caring for him...Her? Wait, What? Yes, what they told us when we bought her was not true...She is not a Boy or a Buddy but our lovely little bird is in fact a Betty and quite the little nurturer. We woke up one morning to her sitting on two little eggs. At first we thought our kids were playing a joke on us but, no joke just yoke. Our bird is female and now we need to watch out for the occasional laying of eggs. Of coarse there will be no babies as there is no Buddy for our Betty, but we might be able to make an Emma size omelet occasionally. Ha, Ha, Ha. (Emma hates most foods for those of you who don't know.) Since these photos were taken she actually laid one more egg. The pet shop told us to remove the eggs so that she would not become aggressive and that it might happen twice a year. So we'll see. Life is full of unexpected surprises. Aren't these little eggs cute, they are about one inch long.

It sounds like Betty might need a buddy. Just kidding. That is FUNNY! Atleast you know now right. You would have thought they would have been able to tell for sure when you purchased the pet. That was a good laugh. We are glad to see that you are all doing well. You have a cute family.

What the heck! How can a Betty lay eggs without a buddy. I guess I don't know much about the birds and the bees. Sometime you'll have to explain it all to me.
